CyLaunch Fundraiser Update!
CyLaunch is happy to report that on April 2nd, successful tests of the launch vehicle and payload were performed in North Branch, Minnesota, under the supervision of team mentor Gary Stroick. This launch functioned as both the payload demonstration and the vehicle demonstration re-flight since the original vehicle demonstration flight (February 27th) warranted a re-flight. The vehicle flew a near-straight path to ~5,550 feet, just shy of the simulated 5,600 feet calculated the previous day.
The payload performed as designed, sending a signal to the ground station after landing. The ground station, a laptop with a HAM radio board plugged in via USB, received the proper grid square coordinates the rocket landed in. Hats off to the payload team! Tonight, CyLaunch will submit the Flight Readiness Review Addendum, a short document explaining launch and payload details. The team expects to be admitted to the competition in Huntsville, AL.
Lastly, the team scored a 70.45% on the Flight Readiness Review package, the highest achieved by CyLaunch this school year. Although the scores of other teams have not yet been made available, it is believed this is above average based on reported averages for CDR & PDR. This is a huge accomplishment from a team that has not participated in the competition for several years.
We are extremely proud of our team and are hoping to continue reaching this milestones!
