Perspectives on Aerospace Leadership:
A Conversation with Vance Coffman and Dennis Muilenburg

Vance Coffman

Dr. Vance D. Coffman retired in April 2005 as chairman of Lockheed Martin Corporation. He served in a series corporate leadership positions including president and chief operating officer of Lockheed Martin’s Space & Strategic Missile Sector. Prior to the merger of Lockheed and Martin Marietta Corporations in 1995, he served as executive vice president of Lockheed Corporation. He received his BS in Aerospace Engineering from Iowa State University in 1967.


Dennis A. Muilenburg Hall

Dennis Muilenburg is chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer of The Boeing Company. He oversees  the strategic direction of the Chicago-based $96.1 billion aerospace company. With approximately 160,000 employees across the United States and in more than 65 countries, Boeing is the world’s largest aerospace company and top U.S. exporter. He received his BS in Aerospace Engineering from Iowa State University in 1986.

MAVRIC competes in the 2017 University Rover Challenge in Hanksville, UT

The MAVRIC team competed in the 2017 University Rover Challenge held in Hanksville, UT and organized by the Mars Society.  The competition took place from June 1st to June 3rd 2017.  This year a record of 82 teams from all over the world competed in the competition.  The URC then down selects teams based on [Continue Reading…]

Spring Break Lab Hours

The 0620 lab will be closed after 3/10/2017 at 6:00 p.m. and will remain closed until 3:00 p.m. on 3/20/17.  There will be no lab monitors on duty during this time.  Enjoy your Spring Break!
