Design, Build, Fly (DBF)

PROJECT MISSION

Our mission is to innovate and excel in the field of aerospace engineering through the AIAA Design/Build/Fly competition. We aim to excel in a competitive environment while fostering teamwork, creativity, and leadership skills among our members. This challenging opportunity allows ISU students to showcase their engineering skills by designing and building a radio-controlled aircraft to complete a set of missions, promoting real-world problem-solving and innovation.

Project Goal

Successfully design, build and fly a stable and well flying aircraft to compete with at the Design/Build/Fly competition. We successfully completed these goals by completing mission 1 and 2 at competition as well as the ground mission.

Next Steps

  1. Moving forward, we plan to use all the information we gained from our first year in this competition, and to start off the next competitive season ready to compete at a higher level. We are excited to see how far ISU DBF team will go!
