Pathfinder is a mechanical apparatus that will be utilized to store all of the fluid system components which will be used for full fluid flow testing. This apparatus is a robust design and will serve as a tool in helping us consolidate the engine design for future design iterations of Typhoon. The design of Pathfinder is intended to be iterated through out the coming years as the development and design of Typhoon expands. Pathfinder will store electronics and the power system as well as fluid systems. Pathfinder will pave a path for future aerospace students in STELLAR to understand fundamentals regarding liquid propulsion development.
Full Fluid Flow Testing is the process in which a rocket engine pushes a chemically inert fluid through the fluid feed system to determine if the system is operating under expected parameters and will ensure hardware components are integrated and functioning up to design specifications.
