This semester, our project is looking into the optimization of non-conventional wing designs, and researching an advanced thermal cooling system that will help make electric flight more feasible. Additionally, we will be finishing testing involving a previously purchased RC plane, and will again test the RC plane after our new wing designs have been built. Lastly, we will develop a safety plan/procedure for our battery, determine needed safety components, and design a 3D model of our battery.
Overall, we were able to meet most of our goals throughout the course of the semester. We were able to complete our preliminary research, as well as optimize wing designs. Additionally, a safety plan/procedure outline was also developed for our aircraft, and a 3D model was designed. We were also able to finish the initial testing of our RC plane. Unfortunately, we were unable to construct our box wings, or conduct our final tests on our RC plane.
