Project Scope of Work
For the CAD/ Build Team, work will entail creating finalized CAD models of all necessary parts to produce the body of the RC aircraft and then move into manufacturing the fuselage (without nose and empennage) and wings only. As for the RC Power Systems Team, these members will work to create a model for power systems on board the RC aircraft and eventually create a physical prototype of the modeled system. In addition, they will test the prototyped system and write a report regarding its procedures and results.
Project Description
As populations and resource consumption continually climb, it is necessary to design new aircraft with sustainability in mind. There are numerous ways to make an aircraft sustainable such as using more efficient combustible fuels, implementing a hybrid electric design, or running purely on electricity. This team seeks to determine the feasibility of an all-electric aircraft that will replace the Boeing 737 for the 2050 time frame.
